Market Place and Queen Street - Southwold - Road Resurfacing - July 2019
Highways will be carrying out road resurfacing on Market Place and along Queen Street down to Lorne Road. This is necessary to stop further deterioration and improve the road surface.
The work is planned to be carried out overnight in the period between Wednesday 10 and Monday 15 July 2019 during the hours of 7pm and 5am. The times and dates of works may change depending on the weather conditions. If they do change, Highways will update the information signs on site.
Once works are in progress the roads below will be temporarily closed to through traffic.
A1095 High Street, Southwold – from Market Place to Victoria Street
A1095 Market Place, Southwold – from High Street to Mill Lane
A1095 Queen Street, Southwold – from Market Place to Pinkneys Lane
Pedestrian access to properties and businesses will be available. However vehicular access may be restricted even where off road parking is available. During the working times above, access will be controlled by staff on site. Please speak to a member of staff who will provide access as soon as it is safe to do so.
During the period of the closure, traffic will be diverted via:
Lorne Road, Godyll Road, York Road, Barnaby Green, High Street and vice versa
Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
These temporary traffic management measures are required to allow the works to be carried out safely and in accordance with current health and safety guidelines.
