The Environment Agency are planning to carry out essential maintenance works to the Southwold North Seawall, including removing green algae from the seawall steps, removing loose and damage sealants from the joints and re-filling the joints.
To remove the green algae from the seawall steps the contractor will carry out trial work on Monday 19th June. They will use special high-pressure jetting equipment to remove the green algae and if the trial work is successful, they’ll do further cleaning work in July. The loose and damage sealants removal and re-filling works will be undertaken after completion of green algae removal. They will also repair 2 damaged Navigation markers located at the end of rock groynes during July/August.
