Southwold Survey

24/5/2018

Southwold survey received from a student:
"Dear Southwold,
I am a Sixth Form Student from Hertfordshire currently collecting data about Southwold and Adnams. I would be very grateful if you could take just 5 minutes of your time to answer some questions about these topics. You do not have to live in Southwold to answer the questions and your input will be valuable for me creating my coursework. If you could also share this link that would also be appreciated. The link is below.
Thank You,
Joe B"

Konectbus Fares Review

17/5/2018

"From Sunday 20th May 2018 we will be revising our fares across the Konectbus network. Since the last fares review in January 2016 our costs have increased and this needs to be reflected in our fares, however we will keep cost increases to a minimum. The average increase is 5% which equates to an increase of no more than 30p on singles, 40p on returns, £2 on weeklies and £5 on monthlies.
The Anywhere Adult Day ticket will be dropped from £9 to £8 to encourage more leisure trips across our network including to Southwold.
Fares from 20 May 2018 will be uploaded into the online fare finder (click Times & Fares and select your route) by 20 May 2018 at 5pm so customers are aware of the new fares the following day."

Reydon Receives Some Right Royal Signage

10/5/2018

Jubilee Green Competition Winner
On Friday 1st June at 10:00am talented Reydon youngster Guy Barber will unveil his prize-winning design for signs on the new Jubilee Green. Guy’s design, featuring a crown and children playing on the green, will grace two signs on the green.
Jubilee Green was named for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012 but it took five more years before Reydon Parish Council took possession of the space. Jubilee Green is designed to be an open space for all the village to enjoy and Reydon Community Gardeners have been working hard to make new raised beds with herbs for anyone to use as well as involving the local primary school in planting up recycled tractor tyres.
Reydon Parish Council invite people to come and see the new signage unveiled by Guy.

Public Art For Small Communities

6/2/2018

Team Big Things are developing an exciting, new programme for a major UK Broadcaster. The idea behind the show is that they will be funding numerous public art projects around the country and want the public to nominate their own village to win the chance of creating a new landmark for their community. The unique process will see established artists working with the local people to create large pieces of public art that have specific meaning to their community, and to use public art as a way of creating a discussion about their own shared collective identity.
Team Big Things would like residents of small towns and villages to get in touch and tell them what makes their hometown so special. Does it have a rich history? Is something or someone famous associated with it? Do they have interesting traditions? Has the community fallen on hard times and is in need of reminding people about how special it really is? What is their unique story?
The most important thing is that the town has a strong sense of community and a commitment to the project, as this is a journey they will all go on together with the goal to create a legacy piece of public art that generations will be proud of.
For further information or to nominate your community contact bigthings@banijayuk.com . A member of the team will be in touch to any applicants they wish to progress further.
